2026 Private Pesticide Applicator Recertification – Southwest Minnesota
Private pesticide applicators (farmers) who apply Restricted Use Pesticides must complete recertification by February 28, 2026 to remain licensed.

Online Recertification Options (Statewide)
The following options are available if you cannot attend in person:
• Live Zoom workshop
• Online self-paced course
• Online exam
All online exams are PROCTORED and require identity verification.
Advance online registration is required for Zoom workshops.
Registration & Fees
Registration opens: January 5, 2026
Workshop fee: $100
Online registration:
Optional and payable by credit card. Includes workshop updates.
Required for Zoom workshops.
Walk-in registration:
Available with check only (payable to the University of Minnesota).
Cash and credit cards are not accepted.
Phone registration:
Call 612-626-5174 at least two weeks before your workshop.
Leave your name, phone number, course name (PPAT), and preferred date and location.
You are not registered until you speak with staff.
Credit card payment only for phone registration.
Expired License Notice
If your private applicator license is expired:
• You cannot recertify
• You must retest by passing the private applicator exam
• Workshops and online courses do not apply
Recertification Deadline: February 28, 2026
Bring a photo ID and your private applicator number/card to workshops.
